Hey friends, we’re back with another edition of #YourNudeOnStory, where we sit down with fellow nudists/naturists, and share their stories as part of our mission of positively promoting naturism and body acceptance. Today, we say hello to Santana in the Netherlands and get to hear her story on getting introduced to the nude life, Santana thanks for joining us.
So Santana, I understand you are still fairly new to the nudist scene—how did it all start for you, what drew you to try naturism from the start? My boyfriend Harmen already was naturist when I met him. He talked with so much enthusiasm about it that he triggered my interest more than I imagined in the first place. So much that it was me that asked him if he could take me to his favourite resort one day.
What reactions did you get when people found you were a nudist? My family reacted pretty calm. They were expecting it I think, because they knew what Harmen meant to me. My father wasn’t happy with our use of personal photos on the internet though. But he’s okay with it now. My best friend didn’t accept it. She was afraid Harmen forced me in to it and that it wasn’t a choice made by myself. Because of this we went seperate ways, but after Jaxson was born we got back in contact, but not as much as before. And then people we don’t know, like some of our readers, they still keep confusing naturism with sex or with the swingers community and randomly ask for ” more “. Something we obviously don’t do.
What do you enjoy most about taking off your clothes? The feeling of total freedom. No annoying clothes when you try to relax on the couch or wet shirts when you’re doing the dishes. Also the wind outside directly on your skin feels amazing
How do you feel your life journey has excelled since you decided to become a nudist/naturist? A lot. First of all it really gave me a lot of body confidence. It also showed me how to respect other people in a different more natural way. It showed me that everybody is the same and it helped me communicating with people.
So I know you and Harmen have a blog together called Bare Thoughts, and I know you have written about some of your experiences as well as Harmen—how did you decide to share your life as a naturist along with him on this blog? Harmen already started his blog and also used photos with my permission in them. He was so full of joy about spreading the message that I was getting excited aswell and shared my story on my personal facebook in dutch. He asked me if it was okay that he was going to translate it to english for his blog. I agreed and that’s how it all started for me.
What are some of your favorite activities to do in the buff? Swimming.
Do you have any special place(s) you like to go where you can enjoy yourself and just be nude? Flevonatuur obviously. I also like to discover and explore new nude beaches all across the netherlands. And we have a lot of them!
How do you feel sharing your nudist/naturist way of life has made an impact on you and others you may know? For me personal more confidence. And the people that know me are very positive about how I’m living my life now. Some of them even inspired enough to maybe join us in the future.
What advice would you give a non-nudist who’d seem willing to try nudism/naturism? Just try it to get a correct judgement about it. Being nude isn’t always sexual. You’ll see that when you try it. Don’t judge without trying it out first. You’ll never go back.
Finally, is there anything else you would like to add? New comic this week, so stay tuned.
Again Santana, thanks for joining us today. It’s great to hear your story about getting introduced to the nude lifestyle, and really coming to love and embrace it! It’s also great to see how you’ve gone from a non-naturist to inspiring others to try naturism, especially from a female point of view! Again, to see what Santana and our buddy Harmen have been up to, check out their blog–and as Santana mentioned, a new It’s a Naturist Life comic is coming!
Friends, if you’re interested in sharing #YourNudeOnStory with us, be sure to DM @teamcloptzone on Twitter, I would love to talk with you about your experience as a naturist to share on our blog, as part of our mission of spreading the positive word about clean, wholesome nudism/naturism and body acceptance. The better we band together as fellow naturists, the stronger we can be about showing the world how natural and truly normal nudism/naturism really is, and in turn I feel it can become more accepted and more people will be willing to join the clothes-free way of life. So #NudeOn friends, together WE ARE #TeamClothingOptional.
